Mark A. Serwinowski is a recognized leader in sustainable development strategy and performance measurement.  For 20+years, Mark has successfully built the nexus between sustainability strategy, technology, and innovation for Global 2000 companies to realize the economic value of environmental and social performance.

 

Mark has held management and equity positions at leading firms in environmental engineering, management consulting and the ESG investor community.  He founded MetaVu in 2002 with a mission to help corporations realize the business value of sustainable development. In 2010, he co-founded The Analyst Desk, an ESG analytics and intelligence advisory with partner firm CRD Analytics, whose SmartView360 platform powers the Nasdaq CRD Global Sustainability Index (Symbol: NQCRD) to track the performance of companies that are taking a leadership role in sustainability performance and transparent ESG reporting.

 

Mark’s award-winning advisory in CSR / ESG strategy has helped benchmark, design and inform innovation of numerous business models, products, and services for companies both public and private.  Sectors include building materials, chemicals, forest products, mining, oil & gas development; clean energy production, and FinTech, to the industries that make the medicines we need, the food we eat, the clothes we wear and the cars we drive. 

 

In addition to corporate collaborations through MetaVu, Mark contributes to building capacity for global institutions regards sustainable business practices.  He was a founding Ambassador for the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).  A founding member of the NAEM Affiliates Council on Sustainability Management, working in partnership with 1,500 corporate members to achieve the Association's goal of advancing environment, health and safety (EHS) and sustainability management best practices. And as thought leader and organizational stakeholder for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

 

Mark is published on numerous topics related to sustainable development and performance measurement and has been recognized for his capacity building contributions in sustainable business practices, including the Global Knowledge Sharing Award in Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainable Development from the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and “Smart Innovator - Top Sustainability Consultant” from independent research firm Verdantix.
