Business Consultant
A business consultant is a key staff position performing such tasks as business case development, assessment, policy and project development, resource leadership and business development. A business consultant will be part of various project teams and can also provide a leadership role throughout the lifecycle of a task(s) or in some cases an entire client project.
Responsibilities can include planning, organizing, and implementing project/client deliverables. Additionally, the role will require direct client interaction and management of metavû and client resources. The business consultant is expected to be deployed in the consumer products, chemical, oil and gas, manufacturing, forest products, utility and /or manufacturing sectors. Experience in one of these sectors and in specific technical and business discipline within a sector (engineering, economics, environmental/health/safety, information technology, marketing, etc.) is mandatory.
Major Responsibilities:
- Project management including proposal/project development, tracking, analysis, optimization, resource allocation, budget creation/management, etc.
- Business consulting including case development, deployment and assessment.
- Develop programs in corporate change management, resource integration and organizational design.
- Develop and implement environmental science, engineering and/or management programs in the areas of corporate strategy, regulatory compliance, site remediation and auditing.
- Implement appropriate technology solutions to optimize business processes.
- Continuous education and knowledge in leading environmental, sustainability and business drivers to deploy in client assignments.
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Increase revenues by identifying and closing new project opportunities through client development.Excellent computer skills for common software (Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science or engineering. MBA from an accredited institution preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience in consulting, specific technical or business disciplines, or target industries
- Excellent computer skills for common software (Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) required.
- Relevant Professional business and technical science / engineering experience showing progressive / promotional achievement.
- Experience and understanding in the business implications of technical issues and impacts.
- Creative leader and problem solver, emotionally intelligent, self-starter, team oriented and client sensitive.
